Can’t find much information on the difference.  It seems as if what’s left is mostly 1st generation. Was 2nd impacted by recall?

I basically just copy/paste what I sent you by email but I think it's good to put it down here for others fellows.

The Basic/Nuco recall question is arguably what customers asked me the most about Nuco for the last 2 years. There is absolutely not a single Kailas Nuco affected by any recall no matter the generation. The Totem voluntary recall apply only for the Totem branded Basic cam and for serial numbers starting from 1706200 to 1733205 only.

Both generations of Nuco/Basic have the same soft and grippy 6061-T aluminum. The threads orientation is the main difference and I don't think it makes any significant improvement in performance. Others differences are only cosmetic like the ''Kailas'' on the black protective sleeve or logos on the fingers trigger.

i'd like to add that i emailed Totem MT and they confirmed that they manufactured the Nuco's to the same spec as the basics, which was comforting.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
