Like some recommendations on boots/approach shoes from La Sportiva, Scarpa and Mammut ( can get them locally). I'm thinking of doing some scrambles or moderate climbs (5.6) in spring/summer. Not sure if the moderate climb will I be packing in my climbing shoes or doing the climb with the boots/approach shoes.
There will be occassions where there could be some snow/glacier travel to get to my objectives.
Will likely purchase a boot and approach shoe so I can use whichever depending on the objective. Thinking of climbs such as: Sahale Edith cavell Mt sir donald Bugaboos Rexford Thanks
I just completed the Fisher Chimneys & SE Ridge routes on Mt. Shuksan using the Scapra Ribelle Tech. I thought they excelled at everything on this route. Super comfortable on the trail and never felt like bricks on my feet. Soft and sticky rubber for the 5th class ridge. Plenty of stiffness and support for front pointing up Winnie’s Slide and Hell’s Highway. Very lightweight and waterproof. I experienced no ‘cons’ or weaknesses with using these on this route in the current conditions.

Seems like sportiva fits . Scarpa don't Haven't tried mamut yet. Any advice on those brands?
If you are not looking for a stiff mountaineering boot, you should look at the La Sportiva Trango TRK GTX. It is a lightweight boot designed for spring early summer mixed routes. I spent a long day in slushy snow last month, and my feet were warm and dry all day.
The new Trango Tech might also be a good option. It's more flexible than the Trango Cube up front (not sure how that compares to the TRK) which gives you more sensitivity and at least some smearing ability. It's basically designed as a scrambler/peak bagger and will still take a hybrid crampon (although I think full flex center bars are recommended for that). I'd expect them to actually perform comparably to the Scarpa Ribelle Tech that Matthew mentioned.
As far as brand experience, I love my La Sportiva footwear so far. Multiple pairs of climbing shoes, approach shoes, and a pair of Nepal Cubes have all been great.
I did have the opportunity to try on the Mammut Magic Guides and they seem great, very comparable to the cubes. Mammut footwear doesn't seem to have the "traction" that LS and Scarpa do here in the states, but they seem quality to me.
