Thinking of heading up to Frisco to do some climbing from Albuquerque. Does anyone have a recommendation on camping by mt royal? Preferably free dispersed camping if possible!

This link might be helpful. You can always check motor vehicle use maps for roads on which dispersed camping is allowed.

Not saying it's comfortable, or legal. Buuuut back when swim did royal flush there was a rocky ledge at the end of the slab section that would accommodate a four person tent. Bring a sleeping pad or you might as well just climb through the night. Or, just sleep in your car/van in the lot/random bar that will assume you are sleeping off the drunkies. Idk about longer term stuffs.

  1. Are you looking to just sleep in your vehicle or set up a Tent, hammock and stove .. ?
  2. How long are you staying, and what are you trying to climb?
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
