When is the best time to climb in lake tahoe?
Hi All, |
From now until it snows. Fall is the best season. |
Never at dusk. |
That really depends on where and what you consider as climbing in Tahoe as different destinations in Tahoe have considerably different elevation levels. Also it depends on if the crag is in the sun or not. You can start climbing in Tahoe for sure right now you just have to pick the right crag for optimum conditions. |

I'm heading up to Tahoe (also from Boulder) and am looking for a partner 6-28, 29, or 30... Any chance you'd want to rope up? |
Spring and Fall. Summer is also not too bad, you just have to chase shade a bit more to stay comfy, but very doable. |
Lover’s Leap is nice in the summer since the main wall is north-facing and stays shady for most of the day. |

Can confirm. Everywhere's good right now. Lover's Leap is super busy, especially on weekends. Dodge the crowd and do a late afternoon climb once it's cooler. Bring bug spray, though. |
