George's Shoe Repair (Minneapolis/St. Paul) - Anyone have any experience?

I know they opened their doors to climbing shoes in Feb of this year, and they're also mentioned in the thread regarding list of climbing shoe places. I usually get my shoes shipped off to Komito Boots in CO, but it would be nice to not have to deal with shipping as well as support a local business.

Edit: Read a couple of reviews with pictures in the local MN Climbing Group on FB. One said they're great while another said the edges of their TC Pros came back a bit rounded, making edging difficult. George, the owner, said they try to match the soles to the original and that there are slight variations but they would redo it free of charge. Looking to hear more experiences though!

New Verdon

Resoled at George's

I used them on a pair of 5.10 Verdons in April. They did not have C4 rubber at the time, but said they were working with Adidas, so that might have changed. I felt like they might have been a little more rounded than when they were brand new, but I could have been imagining that because I read the same review. Sizing felt the same, but I have them sized kinda loose. They have excellent customer service and offered to redo them for free, they worked with me on a shorter turnaround time so I could use them on a trip I had planned, and I think they have some drop off system worked out with a business next door if you cannot make it there during their regular hours. I'll try to post pictures in an edit because I recently bought a brand new pair because they were on clearance.PS There is no one George, it's a family business. Their surname is George.

EDIT: Added Photos. Definitely more rounded.

They were my TCs. I don't plan on going back. They did kind of botch the job. Price is nearly equivalent to other companies which have decades of experience and those companies will deliver the resoled shoes to my door (and usps is an 8min walk from my office). George's closes at like 5:30pm; when am I supposed to pick up my shoes?! Take an afternoon off work to go get them? Yes I understand they have Saturday hours too.

I get the "support local business" stuff too, but, you know, rock and resole is a local business too.

Oh. I think they did offer to repair them. But again, 20+ min drive each way and have to work within their limited hours I decided it wasn't worth it.

Thanks for the pictures Tony! The soles definitely look rounded, but it's not the worst job. I'll probably go with alpinejason's path and continue getting my shoes resoled at Komito, or even try a new cobbler with more climbing shoe experience. If only George's offered a competitive price with their lack of experience. I'll ask my buddy for pictures of his new soles once they're done and update since it's been a few months since they've opened their doors to climbing shoes! Maybe they're getting the craft right

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
