I dont have experience smoking and climbing, but I can confirm riding a bike mildly high is way more fun, and I'll usually ride for longer. When I do it I just make sure to be out the door before it sets in.

May have something to do with the popularity of modern fitness gyms, i.e. mindlessly pulling on complicated machines. Those places always made me feel depressed. I can imagine needing a bit of weed to make it through a workout.

I think the real question here is, "Does climbing while high contribute to, or enhance risk-homeostasis?"

Micro-dosing psychedelics is much more beneficial. Its all about achieving a flow state for maximum performance. Weed for recovery.

This has been my jam for years now, especially great for trail running, ski touring,  and mountain biking (once your on the descent)......almost never for climbing

Would love to see some performance data, not just self-report.

I am sure that weed has a positive effect on health and can be combined with sports. The most important thing is the correct dose it depends on each individual. Weeds strikes the perfect balance between a body high and a cerebral high. It gives the user the benefits of indica strains with the same active feeling that you get from cannabis sativa. With the right mix of CBD and THC, hybrid strains are designed for a more balanced effect. In the world it is becoming more popular , but as I said, be careful about the doses. I can show you where I cut weeds weedsmart.net  . That site is very reliable, I checked it by myself, there are many types of marijuana and most importantly there are specialists who can advise you something specifically for you. This is not related to the topic, but I found marijuana edibles here, I use them and am very grateful.

Weed is for dopes and mopes.

Edible or a tincture might be ok. I've sure seen some terrible lungs on smokers who never touch tobacco.

Keep in mind that big companies still do everything in their power to avoid paying a workman's comp claim. So if you smoke during your workout in the evening but get a bad papercut while stone cold sober in the morning, in a legal state, you are still likely to be drug tested and denied.

Lucky for you that trail running works well with weed (or unlucky for me it doesn't). I'm a terrible runner while high - even just with a mild high. I run with a cardio watch all the time, and I've tried a number of times to compare paths I use often, and for me the results are pretty dismal... My HR, for a given path/pace, is ~15 bpm higher, systematically, for the same effort (my resting HR also raises little bit some times, but not that much). My perceived effort is also much higher for a given pace... If I just set out at what feels like "a comfortable pace" without caring about the watch (which is what I typically do when I run), then typically I will settle if I smoked for 30-45 seconds/km slower. I typically wouldn't go for a super long run either (e.g. pushing over an hour feels like too much). I don't care about performance that much on any random run, but all that makes my run somewhat less enjoyable. So I rarely do it. Walking/hiking is fine (but then when I walk/hike I'm always thinking that I could do it running and it would be better, so...). Maybe if I were to try out different strands, but then I'm not into weed all that much.

Gym climbing while high sometimes if fun. I only do bouldering. I don't get any better or worst, but I DO feel more focus on my mouvement, somewhat more body awarness.

Is this true? If so this seems insane to me. But hey, best healthcare system in the world.

It's true for the medical field. Whether janitor, cafeteria worker, or involved in patient care.

Also true of the construction industry broadly, although individual companies may change their policy.

Anything government, forest service or USPS or desk clerk at the DMV. Pretty much the same thing.

I don't know who to cast blame on. My initial thought is that it's the insurance company that these organizations utilize may be doing it to save costs. It could be the company itself using an underhanded trick to avoid comp claims.

The whole federally illegal thing, even in states like CO, takes precedence.

I don't personally use any of these products though I could see their value in some situations. From a professional consequences POV, I wouldn't even experiment unless during an extended vacation.

Just putting it out there since this information usually isn't on the front page of the policy book.

My best burn on Bellyful (15 years ago) was pretty baked. If you've ever been on it, after the crux is a short upside down shuffle to a big/huge jug at which point you can get upright again and it's a quick move to the anchor. Maybe 2-3 feet below this jug, at the end of the splitter, is an obtuse little knob. Not much, just something to climb past. In my haze, I got to this knob, thought it was my big finishing jug and cut both feet loose. And fell of course. I never made it to that spot again

Interesting Franck, I'm exactly opposite haha, absolutely terrible runner while not high (I should note that I despise running in general).  But normally if I take 2-3 hits of a sativa before a trail run I have a grand old time, stop much less frequently, and find myself in the "zone" much more.  Agreed on bouldering (though not for highballs)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
