Using Arborist Climbing Rope for Top Rope anchor
|
Hey all, |
|
I prefer to use strapping/webbing/or a choker when going around trees or other natural features. |

That’ll do pig, that’ll do. I hope you’re not referring to the Bag o’ Rope from treestuff by the way that would be a real gamble. |

Arborist line is meant to be abrasion resistant and holds knots much better than rock climbing rope. You could tie a running bowline, clove, cow hitch, timber hitch on the trunk, and an anchor hitch, double figure 8, bowline on a bight, for the carabiners. They sell leather sleeves as "friction savers" that would work really well for edge protection if necessary. if the trees sit 20-30' back I'd get an 80' hank of rope. |

Here's the outdoor gear I use. (Buy a bigger Anchor rope for tree's, but if your using Bolt's, then 20 feet will be enough.) God Bless You, and Your Family, and Your Friend's, and Your Climbing!!! |
