Help understanding markings on Tendon rope

I just got a Tendon Master 9.4 from EpicTV. shop.epictv.com/en/ropes/te… Master - 9,4mm Complete Shield | Single Ropes ...
Seemed like a decent deal for the dry treatment and length. It got here today and I'm a little confused now. Online and on the tag it says it is a single rope. But the markings on the end of the rope look like they could be a half and twin rated rope.

9.4 - diameter
oo - twin rated?
1/2 - half rated?
complete shield (dry treatment)
70 m - length

Unless the symbols are greyed out and just placeholders (they'd be black on a different rope?). What markings should I trust to safely use this rope?

You got it right, those are the correct interpretations.  They are not "greyed out"

But where is the marking that says it's a single? I don't see that in the photo.

Tendon Master is indeed a single rope (link below). Maybe they put the wrong sticker on yours??

Thanks for the confirmation of what I was thinking. These icons match the key in the back of the brochure that came with the rope.

That's exactly the concern that I had.

This is an interesting possible explanation.

I reached out to customer service and will see what happens. I'm leaning towards trying to return the rope because things are unclear (or filing a claim with Paypal because they probably won't take back a rope for safety reasons). But, in the off chance that I don't need to send it somewhere, I'm thinking about possible safe uses for a dynamic rope where the ratings are unclear:
  • Rappelling (either from the midpoint or with another line)?
  • A top rope anchor system (taking into account the dynamic movement of the rope, making sure it doesn't get cut from stretching against any edges)?
  • Cutting smaller pieces to use as slings at an anchor?
What would you do with a probably single-rated rope, marked as a twin or half rope?

I would send a photo of the markings and hear the explanation. If they say it is not a single, I'd return it, if you can.

Well, since any half-rated rope can hold any possible fall... I'd lead on it.

I thought it'd be useful to provide an update on how this developed. I heard back from the retailer and the manufacturer who confirmed the single rating of the rope. They said that the sticker showing a half and twin rating was a manufacturing mistake: I could send back the rope to get a new sticker (not a return), or just use it as is. Because of the consistent message from the two companies and my own comparison of the rope to the catalog (color, diameter, weave, ...), I decided I'll just use it as is. The only tricky thing may be how comfortable others are when I climb with them.

I have a Master 9.4 Complete Shield, also purchased from EpicTV. Don't worry too much about that sticker, it won't survive more than a day or two of climbing. Great rope BTW.

Tendon Master 9.4 is my favorite rope of all time. They have lots of great ropes, but the 9.4 is just such a perfect rope. Enjoy!

The only Tendon rope (apart from the specialized short Alpine) with twin and half ratings but no single rating is the 7.8 model. http://www.mytendon.com/rope-tendon-master-7-8?varietyid=5012 .  So either the rating info is wrong or the diameter info is wrong.  A 7.8 diameter is enough smaller than a 9.4 diameter that it should be possible to check with a ruler.  If it is 7.8, you don't want to be using it as an everyday single rope!

I'd bring it back to the store and ask for something marked in accordance with what you wanted.

There is a 7.9 and the Tendon Lowe 8.4 that are both rated for half and twin. The rope in the picture is most definitely a 9.4, which is rated for Single rope use.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
