Summits Tick List for Mountains on Beer Cans
|
So I have gotten a decent number under my belt, with a few more to snag, but I'm wondering about really putting together a more complete list. What peaks do you all know of that are featured on beer cans or bottles? (The mountain must be identifiable on a can or bottle label)

Mt. St. Elias, Alaska (on Alaska Icy Bay IPA). |

Just came here to express my approval of such a worthy endeavor, I offer my beer drinking services to help you find more peaks to bag. Also Going to the Sun IPA from Great Northern Brewing features Going-to-the-Sun Mountain in Glacier, MT. |

oh boy this is fun! Could you include what beers go with what mountains? There are lots of small micros here in Colorado that feature stuff, let me think. |

I'll see about looking some up! The Europe ones might be trickier since I just saw them in passing in the stores there as this idea was fermenting... |

^^^^ Fitz Roy massif/range. Time to put all those on your ticklist Mark! |

You already have it on your list, and the product is not beer, but I think Wyeast's packaging is cool: |

CO Climber wrote: Story? Pictures? That’s an elusive one. https://alaskanbeer.com/our-beers/icy-bay-ipa/ Icy Bay is at the base of Mt. St. Elias. If I remember correctly, there's a pic of St. Elias in the background. |

Smith Rock has featured on at least a few beers. Unfortunately Monkey Face Porter from Cascade Lakes Brewing seems to no longer exist, and Jagged Edge IPA from Black Diamond Brewing has chaned it's design to just a lame hops flower instead of a photo of Chain Reaction. Images found on google image search (getting me banned if this was Supertopo). |

Actually Descutes Brewing has a bunch of these. Mirror Pond Pale Ale features a recognizable North Sister: They have a bunch of others that are arguably local mountains, but I think only these ones are obviously identifiable, as opposed to aggressively stylized generic mountains. Smith Rock Brewing has beers named after specific routes there, but they don't bottle as far as I know. I'm sure there are waaay more Oregon microbrews with recognizable summits, but I'm going to stop avoiding work now. |

These are the the important questions we must ask ourselves as alpinists, cheers to shining a light on this issue. Is the Torpedo can a specific peak?

What’s on a can of Kokanee? https://www.google.ca/search?q=kokanee+beer&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-ca&client=safari#imgrc=JpV_yXhTCR8pEM: |

Cerveza Austral: Cuernos Del Paine I wonder how many folks have climbed all three Torres and more than one Cuerno? |

The Red Castle ( alltrails.com/trail/us/utah…) is on the Uinta Wyld can. It's always looked to me like it would have some awesome (but extremely chossy) climbing on it. |
