I'm deciding between a pair of Tenaya Oasi and La Sportiva Otaki. Both feel comfortable and I have the right size. My question is about width. At the front of the shoe, the width of the Otaki sole is a lot wider than the Oasi. When I try on the Oasi, my foot bulges over the edge of the sole. The fit is still comfortable, though, because of how soft the rubber is. Is there anything wrong with climbing in a shoe in which your foot stretches over the side? Will it be harder to stand on edges using the outer front of foot? I assume the rand might rub against the walls more? The width of my foot is completely contained within the Otaki, so no worries there. I'd like to go with the Oasi's because of the softness and comfort, but am a little concerned about the width. I've not found anything online about this.
The attached pictures show the two shoes compared with each other, and a picture of me wearing the Oasi showing the foot bulge on the side

Damn dude!! You might trash the Oasi quicker, I see it happen more on my left foot(bigger) than my right. Also, back stepping might be harder. But it's your feet man. Have fun!
I have noticed a slight annoyance with this. Recently with sizing down on a pair of futura. The fit was nice, but my footprint is over the edge. I noticed on thin foot placements a few times now where I have been pushed by my foot being bigger. It’s definitely made me a little more conscious on my placements. Personally I think I am going to go with a wider last on my next shoe, like the Genius.
