What is the best climbing near Denver around March? I’m going out for my grandpas 85th and I want to get on real rock since I live in the Midwest and it’s too cold to climb on anything other than plastic. Bouldering or sport climbing
North Table Mountain is warm and has easy access. Anything south-facing in Boulder Canyon works: Plotinus, Wall of Winter Warmth, Rivera, Bihedrals, Happy Hour are all good bets.
Of course, March is the snowiest month so you could do a grand tour of all the gyms in the area if the snow flies.
Clear Creek Canyon is the best sport climbing closest to Denver. I've been climbing there all but a couple weekends this winter. South facing crags are good into the 30's. Highwire, catslab, creekside, east colfax, dog house, other critters to name a few.
