OR Ferrosi Sizing

I am heavily considering picking up and OR Ferrosi hooded jacket but I'm wondering about which size would be best. I'm 6'4 and pretty skinny (155 lb), I am on the fence between a medium and a large. Can anyone give any insight as to how their Ferrosi fits?

I have a hooded version and non. 6'1 about 160. Large is perfect.

As far as how it fits, it is the only jacket I have that I will wear for climbing. No restrictions as far as movement, hood stretches nice over helmet when its cold

Do you think the medium would be able to fit a base layer and a fleece under it?

How is the length? Does it fit nicely under a harness without getting pulled out?

6 foot 165 size medium fits great.   Not skin tight but a trim fit on me.  I sized it for layering on top the large was baggy for me.

So far medium seems like the way to go, but if the new fit really is slimmer maybe I’ll get a medium and a large and just return one

Did you consider trying the clothes on before you buy them? Wild concept I know.

Some of us live in locations which do not have retail outlets for climbing gear or clothing.  For me I have to travel 3 1/2 hours to possibly see something in person so mail order is the only way.

On the bright side I almost always have the entire mountain, not just the route, to myself.  Now that's a concept I love. :)

6' 180lbs, broad build here and the M is just too tight for me. L fits great with something underneath it, a bit baggy with just a t-shirt.

You’re so tall a medium may not stay put under a harness very well.

Are you in the US?  Do you have Amazon prime? Many of the goods sold through this conduit have free return shipping;  it’s a feature that greatly facilitates trying on multiple sizes without shouldering the cost of returns.

They actually carry them at REI, so if you have one nearby give them a call since they usually have them. If not, order a Medium. If it's too slim for you when you try it on, exchange it for a large.

My local rei doesn’t carry this jacket so I cant try it on in store, and since I’m a college student without a car getting across town isn’t the easiest thing either.

Keegan, I am 6'2", 200lbs, with long arms....that is what is going to cause you problems. I normally wear an XL, but the sleeves are too short. You maybe able to get away with an XL, since you probably don't have a lot of thickness to you at 155lbs.

I returned mine and got a Patagucci equivalent that had longer arms.  I am lucky that there is an REI, Midwest Mountaineering and outlet malls within 30 minutes of my house where I can try these things on.

That is me in the Ferrosi Summit, size large. I am 5'10", 193, and a little barrel chested. It fits me very well. Plenty of room for a shirt and R1. The torso length is perfect for harness and a perfect drop down over my pants, while the sleeves are a touch long and billowy.Your problem will be that the medium torso and sleeve length is probably not long enough, while the large will likely fit two of you inside, even though it is a slim fit. I bought that jacket last fall and love it. Good luck.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
