Ski-Mountaineering helmet?
|
Are there any good helmets out there that are good for ski mountianeering. I would like it if it was ski certified and climbing certified. |

Is the older Meteor recommended for the same use? I have a Meteor but it doesn't look exactly like that one. |

From the research I did on this a few months ago, there were only a handful of options. I landed on a Sweet Protection Igniter Alpiniste II - it's a Norwegian company and it seems like their products haven't quite penetrated the US market completely. But, after taking it on a ski trip last December, it performed wonderfully and is a high quality product. It is dual certified for skiing and mountaineering per CE EN 1077 (Class B), EN 12492. |

Petzl Scirocco has the same certifications as the Meteor for less weight. |

The new camp speed comp is the lightest ski certified helmet on the market to my knowledge. It’s much heavier than light climbing helmets, I use a bd vapor but certainly don’t really trust it. |

The Salewa Vert and Salomon Mtn Lab are both dual certified. I have the Salomon and find it comfy. The plastic shell is similar to what you find on a regular ski helmet not a climbing helmet. |

The Solly MTN Lab is a good one. Movement makes the same thing but in different colours; the Alpi. |
