Climbing in Tokyo
I am moving to Tokyo in a few months and am looking for a gym to train at. I love bouldering, but my wife also wants a gym with top rope. Anyone know of any good gyms that have both? What are the best gyms in Tokyo? |
What part of the city are you going to be in? Tokyo is pretty big ;) |
We'll be working near rippongi hills so anywhere near there would be cool. Or really anywhere in the area. We don't have an apartment yet and being near a climbing gym is what we are looking for |
Bouldering gyms are plentiful in Tokyo; for that area, Noborock at Shibuya and T-Wall Shinbashi are popular with my friends. Looks like there's a place called Climbing Gym SPIDER nearby, too. |
On the topic, where is the best good outdoor bouldering or roped climbing to tokyo? |
I would not classify it as "climbing" in almost any way. But definitely climb Mt. Fuji. Ooohh boy, THAT is an experience. |
Not super near to Tokyo, but if you're willing to go all the way to Fuji, go climb at Mt. Mitsutoge and climb. It's all sport, but has a wide variety of routes. It's about an hour approach from the easiest way, or two hours if you take in the view from Chureito Pagoda first. |

If you come to Tokyo in winter season, Jyogasaki is a good crag. |
