Ski crampons

Background: Hoping to get some input on ski crampons. I recently got a pair of skis mounted with Dynafit Rotation 12 bindings and bought a pair of Dynafit Ski Crampons for them.

Problem: The issue is the main tooth seems to fall under the arch of the boot (on a Dynafit and a Scott boot), and there is a lot of wiggle room. I don't feel like I can really drive the main tooth down into the snow surface because of the poor boot contact.

Question: Is how ski crampons typically function?  Or should there be a spacer or something?

Thanks. First pair od ski crampons.

You definitely need a spacer for those to function properly. The B&D crampons come with spacers for that reason. Make some of your own or maybe B&D sells some that will work with the dynafit crampon.

You can get the spacers from B&D or get Speed Turn Nubbins from Dyanfit part suppliers (you will need four, two for each crampon).  The crampons come with pre-drilled holes for attaching the Nubbins

Exactly why I prefer Voile fixed ski crampons. Might be another option for you.

A fellow on Turns All Year TAY (Amar Andalkar) has successfully used blue foam for the spacers.  You'll have to check the older stuff--5-7 years ago.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
