Just wondering if anyone has had success building a freestanding board without the support columns on sides? as in purely cantilevered if that makes sense. the only one i can find online is chaining it to two trees.... or i guess i could sell a liver and buy the one on the website. has anyone had success doing that?

Yessir.  Four 4x6x16's about 5' in the ground.  Ton of cement.  It flexes fur sure but it ain't going nowhere.

Sweet rig Ben. Do you happen to know the highest point? Wonder if I could fit one in my garage.

It's the normal MB dimensions.. whatever that is.  Somewhere around 10-11ft I think.

Just in case anyone is interested..... I ended up not doing the stand alone thing and dug it in underneath an existing covered area in our backyard.....

What's your dab situation like with that? Also any concerns about it filling up with water in the rain?

Great questions. Dab situation better than expected. Only really an issue with the first move if your feet cut. So far so good but i may end up digging a little more out.... In terms of water i ended up digging out more than needed under the base board and filling it will coarse gravel to speed up drainage. my goal though is to keep water out of there completely with some additional minor civil works i.e 2 small concrete spoon drains to feed future fruit trees...

Awesome man!  Really good idea.  Finding the space for one of these has been the main thing holding me back from building one of my own.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm curious how your moonboard is holding up in the weather? What you built is almost exactly what I'm looking to build. You don't happen to have plans that you used or anything like that do you?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
