Wondering if anyone has had a lot of experience using a 7.7mm rope with micro-traxion.  I have a spare 7.7 that I use for routes that require 2 ropes for rapping and was thinking about using it as a haul line for a smaller wall. Be hauling ~60lbs total.

Yeah, it works. I have a 7 that is use for the same thing.

I always feel that figuring it out for myself is a better, more solid experience.

Do you own a Micro Trax? Hang it somewhere, get a chunk of 7 mil, tie a foot loop in it, step in it and bounce the shit out of it.

What happened?

Try a piece of 5 mil. What happened?

You have now found out for yourself and you now know as much about it as just about any human alive.
Figuring it out for yourself is a much better life skill than just asking on the internet.

Thanks for the responses,

Mark, I have a micro-traxion, and will try it with the 7.7mm soon.  Just at my in-laws for Christmas and doing some spring planning.

I don’t think 5 mil will work but give it a try and report back!

I have a 60 meter 5.5 mil cord I use to haul a light pack on free routes. And for occaisional use as a pull cord when rapping. It works totally fine in the microtraxion for hauling. Gloves are pretty neccesary to do much with it though; that thin cord bites into the hands when you pull on it. Certainly wouldn't haul 60 lbs with it...

I have used the micro traxion on 5.9 power cord with no issues.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
