Hey MP community! A friend off mine is buying (saving) a local gym! CrossFit Soaring Ledge, is becoming Scrapyard Climbing Collective thanks to Josh Bochniak.
Both this gym and its owner have played a vital part in my life. This gym is where I started climbing beyond age 6, and Josh taught me much of what has kept me alive to this day, and introduced me to the lifestyle I live today. I'm not sure who amongst our MP and climbing community has known or been touched by Josh's good will over the years, but he is a great human being and amazingly knowledgable climber (quite the opposite of the midwestern joke, juggler and vertical adventures). From the east coast, to the midwest, to Red Rocks, Josh has found, taught, and shared his passion and love for the outdoors and climbing with everyone. He has led individuals and groups outdoors to grow, learn and love the natural world. Scrapyard CC will surely be the perfect place for him to share these qualities with everyone and I look forward to seeing its growth and how it can strengthen the community. If anyone is feeling so moved this holiday season, please check out his IndieGoGo campaign, share, donate, give some words of encouragement, whatever it may be! Thanks!

It’s on the west coast of Michigan, right on Lake Michigan. About 30 minutes from Grand Rapids and about an hour from Grand Ledge. Not exactly swarming with climbing opportunities but has a strong outdoor and active community.

The whole facility has been sold, although be it to two separate new owners. Josh is taking over the climbing wall, and new CrossFitters are coming to take over what was that side of the gym.
