Is this a really good deal on Stainless Steel hangers? Or do you think it is mislabeled plated hangers?

Title: Fixe Climbing Gear Fixe 1 Hanger Stainless Steel M12 100 Units

Price: $120.99

Picture appears to be Fixe's plated hanger

Description says: "Material:ecotri zinc plated / 316L  stainless steel."

I submitted a question on the page a couple of days ago, and haven't gotten a response. If this was a US retailer with easy returns I'd just order and find out.

Picture is definitely the ecotri zinc, not the 316L.  Their product page should list one or the other, not both

I don't see 12 mm available on fixe website for 316l. 12mm is only on fixe website for the ecotri zinc

I would assume the 12mm 316 hanger is the same thing as the 1/2 inch one. Trekkinn is a European site, so it's not surprising that it's in metric.

Almost definitely mislabeled and not stainless.

You can get 20 actual stainless hangers for $35 (plus shipping) at Oliunid though:

Does anyone have good deals for some 8mm bolts? SS or otherwise. Thanks!

Maybe, it's hard to say since there's obvious issues with trekkin's listing.  But Fixe's website does distinguish between hangers meant for 12mm and hangers meant for 1/2":

https://fixehardware.com/index.php/fixe-ps-12-mm-bolt-hanger.html

https://fixehardware.com/index.php/fixe-ps-1-2-bolt-hanger-2.html

I only have Fixe's PS 3/8 BOLT HANGER (which actually measures ~ 10mm) and Fixe's older non-conical 1/2 hangers in 304 (~13.1mm) and PLX (~12.8mm) on hand, so idk what the actual size difference between fixe's 12mm and 1/2 conical ps hangers are.

You could try ordering the qty 20 from trekkin first:

  tradeinn.com/trekkinn/en/fi…

but with shipping, it's not a great deal.

I ordered those qty 20 petzl coeurs from oliunid last week and am waiting for them to arrive

What are you using them for? You can get ¼” button heads and ¼” wedges for really cheap from construction supply sites and ebay. Both in ss and plated. Also boxes of the hilti m8 wedges are often cheap on eBay. Hope you have a specific use in mind or you’re going to replace them with something beefier later

I looked at those 8mm bolts from Raumer but they seem to indicate that they shouldn’t be used in granite on their web site.  Which is a little weird as I’ve always read that wedge bolts are for hard rock.  Anyone know why these wouldn’t be recommended for use in granite?

According to Jim Titt, "It's that the two small bent out corners that provide the initial engagement get blunted by hard rock and the bolt doesn't hook up, soft rock they can just slide through. I've used Italian made bolts with this clip design over 20 years ago and gave up with them."

Thank you.  It’s nice to know why they aren’t appropriate on hard stone like granite.

Great prices on Bonier SS Hangers. Duplas, SimPles, and PinGos with 3/8” or 1/2” hole sizes. These are really great rope and carabiner friendly hangers! Can send via USPS flat rate.

James,

The PinGos and DuPlas are cool hangers! Cant think of any really practical use for the DuPlas though.
Care to expand on pricing of those offerings?

Wanna give us some pricing on those since James didn't respond to the ask? TIA.

He sold to me at PinGos= $2.30 each, SimPles= $3.30 each, and the Duplas $4.30/each, +shipping

Not sure if that's his standard price, or if there was a break for buying 40+ hangers

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
