That's great, Jim! I mostly started this thread as a parody of the made in America thread, but this actually is a serious list now. :O

It’s almost like sourcing materials from one country is less effective than from an entire freaking continent.

Just saying - that's one of the most impressive responses I've seen in a long time

Hmm, I see, one country is missing from Jim's impressive list: The Netherlands!

Ah, that probably accounts for some of the missing information...

For example:

- some Edelrid Biners are made in Italy
- some Petzl products are made in Wales
- 1 Wild Country product is made in Italy
- Mammut ropes are no longer made in Switzerland

Etc..

Well it´s a list of brands, not where all the products are made. I doubt you can find many manufacturers where everything is made in their home country.

The list also needs a bit of updating/correcting, Kong isn´t there as has been noted, I added a couple of German ones, Wild Country is no longer based in the UK (and have closed their manufacturing plant there) and so on. There´s also probably a fair few countries missing where somewhere there´s a couple of guys sewing up sleeping bags or whatever.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
