Renting a car in Vegas: Anywhere cheaper than the airport?

With one exception, for every Red Rocks climbing trip we flew in and rented a car right at the airport.

I've found that for some places, like Denver and L.A., it's cheaper to rent a car from a suburban place that isn't close to the airport, and get there via taking a Lyft or Uber from the airport.

Does the same strategy work in Vegas?  Or should we just stick to renting at the airport?

Fox rent a car is usually a bit cheaper in my experience. They have shuttles from the airport

I’ve rented a few cars from the Turo app in Vegas and some other cities and it’s almost always cheaper than the airport rentals. Turo lets people rent their personal cars out.

We usually rent from dollar at the airport, way cheaper than all the others.  Just make sure to signup online for (free) their express ID program so you dont wait in a huge line to pickup your car.

Check/use Hotwire.com, just rented a Subaru Outback the first week of Nov at RR for $16/day, could have gotten a midsize for $11, or a toaster on wheels for $8. That bad boy got us 6 miles up rocky gap road to the first trailhead!!!

Best part is you can cancel for free, the last two trips I’ve booked they sent me a better deal or discount via email a week or so later, so I booked that then cancelled the original. Has been with thrifty the last couple times. Highly recommend. Just don’t get any of the extras like John said, and fuel it yourself...

I can't recall the company and I tried looking for it online, but couldn't find it. My husband and I travel to Vegas couple times a year. We usually end up renting from one of the car rental companies that are located at the Mccarran Airport Car Rental Center. But one year we found a company with cheaper rates, but it wasn't located at the Mccarran Car Rental Center. So we caught the first shuttle from the airport to the Mccarran Car Rental Center, then a second to another car rental center. Since it was offsite, the car rental rates were cheaper than the car rental rates of those companies in the McCarran Car Rental Center. So sorry I can't recall the name of that company for you. :( If I find out what company, I'll def update my post.

I rented a smart car from Turo for $18/day in Vegas.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
