I am going to beat the dead horse. This is cool but am I the only on NOT surprised that he didn't put up any FA's or try any of Hayden's more futuristic routes.

Looks like he only had 4 days in the desert...maybe just not on his agenda. I would definitely love to see what kinda work he could put in on an extended trip.

I mean... I think he was in the Creek for 3 days? Maybe 4? On an onsighting spree of the Western US.....

I can go across the western US and onsite a bunch of 5.10's too. Would be nice to see him try hard.

i don't think you need to try hard on trad

i mean sport climbing is just harder

15d (silence) vs 14c (meltdown, magicline, etc)

I'll make a bold statement here and claim that he doesn't really care... first time in the creek and onsighting 5.13 is impressive for anyone.

Yes but could Ondra climb a Gunk's 5.7+ blindfolded, drunk, wearing one flip flop and one bowling shoe, other than that completely naked and also carrying a chalk bag full of mayonnaise?

So much jealousy in this thread. Hard work = hard climbing. Get out of the armrest chair and start working out ya bums!

He could onsight 5.8 at the Gunks and downgrade it for being too soft.

5.10 at woodson is prolly like 5.13 at the gunks so you be the judge

Who even climbs at the Gunks anymore? No one goes there, its too crowded.

Wouldn't it be cool if we had some way to make the world's best climber only do exactly what we wanted him to do at all moments.

Something doesn't line up with your argument...

Ondra clearly likes to ride on coattails.

Another thought is he was after finger cracks...Something tells me we might see a Cobra Crack onsight attempt.

y'all sure do like to talk shit for people who can't even climb 5.6 at the gunks...

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
