Howdy. I just accepted my first full time job and will likely be relocating to the Delaware area near Newark. I've taken a peek at the MP page for the state and I'm curious if there are more places to climb than the two spots listed. I enjoy bouldering so cliffs aren't necessary, but if anyone knows of some spots I would love to hear about them.

unfortuntely not. i live in south jersey and DRG in Bear is my home gym. Our group is there 2-3 times a week in the winter months, but everyone is pretty friendly so you shouldn't have a hard time fitting in somewhere.
As far as Alapocas and Rockford, thats about it. Of note, there are some short, hard faces all the way climbers right that go 12+. They are only about 20-25' but there are bloated anchors on top and its a place to try hard for a couple moves on real rock. the movement is actually pretty good and I've had some fun failing on them. From Newark, the closest actual climbing area is going to be about an hour away. the good thing is that you have some choices an hour in multiple directions. Rocks State Park in MD is small but has some trad. Safe Harbor and Birdsboro have bolts. Safe Harbor North is def worth exploring a little more. Ralph Stover/High rocks has about 200 top rope routes. And you're only two hours from Powerlinez but more importantly only three hours from the gunks.
As JRZane noted climbing is pretty limited here in Delaware. Alpocas is fun to climb. Watch out for poison ivy and copper heads during the summer months. The DE rock gym has a large bouldering area, and if i had to guess around 30 top rope routes. Pack a lunch and climb all day.
DRG actaully has 55 ropes, each rope has three routes. of course a full 1/3 of them are 5.8 and under. its a nice clean gym, the route setting is hit or miss (as is the grading they use), but I've been to a lot worse. They've got a great lead roof thats 8 feet deep at its deepest and 15 feet wide. def one of the stronger aspects of the gym.

There’s plenty of good bouldering in PA not far from Newark
when i was stuck in the mid atlantic, i found haycock bouldering outside of PHIL in Doylestown area to be the most quality area closest to me (during the cold months of course). In fact, I would say that PA bouldering is generally under-appreciated and under the radar. that state is stacked with blocs. get some pads and go to haycock, governor's stable, etc.

I am coming from west of philly so I'm very familiar with the SEPA areas. I was just curious if anyone had beta on more in the state of DE but it appears not
Rock Climbing New Jersey Falcon Guide - has the best beta on Rockford Park. I've been working the area lately and it's pretty fun with tons of potential. One section would be great if you could climb with ropes as it is pretty tall and the landing is super sketchy with pads alone. I have some more pictures and beta I'll be posting here.
Alapocas is the tallest section or legit rock wall in DE. Tons of top rope options that you can string together for fun. There are also a ton of bouldering in the area that's a little less talked about as roped climbing is the only activity legal in the park. I'd recommend Birdsboro or Safe Harbor for leading that's within an hour. Chickie's Rock for Trad about 1.5 hours away in SEPA and Mount Gretna for bouldering just a little further.

am not sure whats developed but beyond the normal areas we used to climb up into the brandywine creek. there are outcrops up and down the watershed. there is some trail in wilmington (i think by the art mueusm and old mills) runs along the creek. you walk down this well manicured trail inside a park and there up on the side is this very nice chill climbing area. am not sure access but when we was there last didn;t have any issues. we was looking at yaking the brandywine there and the climbing wall was a distraction. used to be this old knarly perfect 5.8 handcrack behind a ball field in rideley creek park. old quarry. might be developed. down along the maryland border, rocks state park, for sure. the fall line lacerates delaware and maryland. nice pockets all about...
