5 10 moccasym
I've been wearing moccs for 2 years plus. I resoled one pair 2 times, and recently wore socks with them and stretched them out. Been that guy always wearing moccs no matter what climb, for years. Recently purchased a new pair and feel as they aren't the same quality. not stretching smoothly. They recently removed them from the Adidas website. I'm wondering if I'm the only one, (as im getting back into shape) and what I'm going to climb in next. I already have a pair of pinks on order and am considering socks with my old pair. Or maybe the white elvoves. Im lost help. (wasnt styoked on addicts) |

Pinks? |
Addicts aren’t Mocs, that’s for sure. Sorry to hear about the death of such a venerable shoe. I’ve never found a slip on like it, sorry I can’t help. |

I feel your pain, Evan. Moccasyms were my favorite shoe for everything. I heard and saw the decline in quality, so I got a pair of Scarpa Origins instead. They are about $100, which is what old school Moccs used to be before this $120 fuckery of late. Scarpa quality just like my boots of the same brand. Of course, the rubber isn't as thin as Moccs, so they are not as sensitive. But they will last longer on the other hand. They are also wide, comfy, and fit my heel. 5.10 Rouges didn't fit my heel very well, so they were pretty awful and would slip off at inopportune times unless I jammed tape in there. I think I'm done with 5.10 at this point. |
this company is supposed to be by former 5.10 employees and they have a mocc that is very reminiscent of the five ten mocc. I can't speak for it myself though. |
Wash your old Mocs. As they dry out, put them on a few times, and they will conform to your feet again. |

justino wrote Mine blew out after a half year or so. Same spot on the side as everyone else. I just brought them to the local shoe maker and they fixed them up great for 5 bucks. |
if you can find a la sportiva cobra in your size, i feel like they're the next best slipper. |
Anyone know best way to size cobras for cracks (.75/.5 size)? |
the cobras are pretty supple and stretchy. i ordered like 1.5 sizes down from my tc pro size, and could probably even go down another half size if i wanted to climb harder stuff. |
I’ve been wearing Moccasyms for close to twenty years. The fit of the shoe isn’t the same as it used to be, but I haven’t noticed the quality being off yet. Of course, my newest pair is at least a year old. We’ll see what happens when it’s time to replace them. |
I've been reading that the quality of the Moccs has been shit lately. RIP Moccs... they are by far my favorite comfortable climbing shoes to date. |
have a pair of cobras and they don't fit my foot right. they climb well, but I got to the top of a long multi-pitch pissed screaming because my feet were hurting so bad. maybe I could go a size up and be happier. I'll try washing my old pair, and I live in SoCal so id be interested to try the underdog, unparalleled. Thanks, guys |
The new Moccs are pretty bad. I bought a pair and wore through them in a few weeks and sent them back for warranty, received a new pair, and am well through them in just a few days of climbing on them. I'm already looking into my replacement plan for crack shoes... |
From what i have heard these are all still old five ten shoes left over, adidas has yet to start to manufacture them. |

Very nice! And more the original price. |

If you’re going to look for a new slipper check out the Mavernick by La Sportiva. It’s a no edge sole, so it’s sensitve, the shoe is actually designed for kids so it’s really comfortable. I bought it to be a comfortable shoe for lazy climbing days but I like them so much that I wear them all the time for everything now, even on steep overhanging stuff, but they excel on slabs and in cracks. They only go up to a size 42 but they stretch quite a bit and most people seem to wear them about a full size smaller than other climbing shoes although I sized them the same as my other shoes (40.5) |
