Hey all. We have a crowd heading to SP from New Orleans. T-wall was our original destination but we were stopped by the hunting season days. I understand that was also the recommended camping area for Sunset. Any recommendations for close alternatives to camp?
Thanks!

Raccoon Mountain Caverns & Campground, Foster Falls campground, Lookout Mtn/Chattanooga West KOA campground, Harrison Bay State Park campsites, Walmart parking lot on Signal Mtn Road (allows vans/RVs to park in their lot).  Also - Tant Hill Farm in Lafayette GA - hipcamp.com/georgia/tant-hi…

We spent two nights at the KOA while climbing at Sunset. I think it was 20 minutes from Sunset. It was not to pricey and with break-ins at T-wall and recently at Sunset I felt better leaving our stuff at KOA.

Thanks! I just saw some posts about the break ins and this helps a ton!

An alternative to the KOA is the Crash Pad hostel in Chattanooga. It’s minutes from Sunset, in a groovy location with bars and restaurants within walking distance, has free WiFi and a cool atmosphere with like minded people. Just a suggestion.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
