Snowboarding Mittens

I am looking for opinions on snowboarding mittens, specifically those that suck and those that work. I get cold fingers easily and need something super warm. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Thank you,

Shane

Kinco mittens. Waterproof 'em. On the chair each lap put the mittens atop your base layer on your ribs, and lay your hands on your ribs on the skin.

You won't lose any body heat this way, your core will stay hot, and so will your hands.

A $1 pair of 10hour shake-n-warms last a backcountry day. Have a spare pair in your pack always.

The Swany Legend touch are pretty amazing. Leather mitt with sewn in glove liner with full zipper pocket, not only can you can pull your fingers out without taking the mitt off, you can stuff a hand warmer in there as well, super warm.
Leather is warmer than synthetic.
If price is no object, the Hestra Power Heaters are the only option.

dakine scout (double) mittens.  absolutely cannot beat the warmth to price ratio.

If price is an issue then go kinco and waterproof them. Amazing gloves for 20 bucks or so.

If you have a few extra bucks Hestra are the go to. Great gloves and one of the only pairs I've had last more than a season.

I've had a pair of Burton Oven Mitts for nearly 20 years, never been cold in them up to -45 F

They were expensive (over $100 even on closeout) but I have never regretted them. Design may have changed so YMMV

I got a pair of Free the Powder mittens last year and my goodness are they warm. Removable liners were great because it meant that on warmer days I could use thinner liner gloves then the liner mitts they came with and super easy to dry out after wet days. Coldest I wore them in was maybe -10F and they were still pretty cozy. Honestly they were usually too warm.

I bought a pair of hestra lobster gloves which I Iove. Take a look at these.
Best part is that when you have to use your pinchers you still have a free finger.
Obviously not as warm as full on mittens but for anything above 0°F you'd be good.

I first read that as kittens. Somewhat disappointed. On the plus side, I need to start considering gloves for this ice climbing season, so thanks for the reminder.

If dexterity isn't the most important aspect & you want one of the warmest mittens available, take a look at Mountain Hardwear's Absolute Zero Mitten.  Made for 8000M peaks & stuffed with hydrophobic down.

Thanks for the replies!

I went with Crab Grab Snuggler mitts. Super warm at minus zero degrees, hands never got cold.
