Access to Sleeping Giant Provincial park

Does anyone know if climbing is allowed in Sleeping Giant. I had heard that it is not allowed and carries a heavy fine. Can anyone fill me in on the details, do you need a permit?

It is not permitted. There is no permit available -- climbing is, simply, disallowed.

The only provincial park in Ontario where climbing is permitted is Bon Echo -- through a special memorandum of understanding with the Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) Toronto section.  It is forbidden in all other Ontario provincial parks.

There are lots of other climbing choices in the Thunder Bay area.
