Lost (NYC) / Theft Alert: Brand new in box Butora Endeavor, Moss Green, size 11

Okay this is a very long shot, I know: In a very stupid and sleep-deprived move, I left a box of brand new Butora Endeavor climbing shoes (Moss Green wide, size 11) on the subway in NYC. They were inside a blue Granite Gear reusable silnylon shopping bag (which I'm bummed about losing as well..). I was actually on my way to exchange them for a larger size, so the receipt was inside the box. This was left Monday 9/17/2018.

Yes I know I'll almost certainly never see them again. Actually the main reason I'm posting is a heads up in case anyone sees these for sale anywhere ( here on Mountain Project, ebay, Craig's List, your local climbing gym or Facebook group..). Since the receipt (which contained the name of the local store I purchased them at) was inside the box, anyone who found them could have easily determined where it was purchased and returned them if they wanted to. And obviously, they are useless to anyone who isn't a climber with size 11 feet. So while calling this a 'theft' is a bit of a stretch, I consider it malicious of anyone who found them and didn't return them..

So if anyone happens to see these for sale anywhere, or hear about it, please let me know.. 

Did you contact the store where you purchased them? What about ​MTA Lost and Found?​​​

I did both, thanks Marc. I actually told the shop that if any good samaritan brings them in, they can give half the refund value to that person as a reward. And I just thought of the MTA Lost & found as I was writing this post, and submitted an inquiry. I'll update this post if I hear back from either.

If I see a Bum on the subway next week rocking climbing shoes I'll keep you posted......good luck 

Chances seem incredibly slim that you will see the shoes or the Petzl carabiner you lost in the gunks this weekend ever again.  I would agree its quite a stretch to call something you forgot on the subway a theft.
