Silver Mountain - Michigan

My gf and I are in town for a wedding and are hoping to climb at Silver Mountain.  Our rental is just a sedan without much clearance.  How's the road leading to the parking?  It sounds like its a maintained gravel road then dirt to the actual turn-around parking spot.  Anyone been up there lately and know the conditions?  Also, it looks like we may get a little rain this week - would it be wise to avoid the road if it's rained the days we plan on being there?

Thanks!

If you are worried about the final 1/4 mile stretch of dirt road to the climbers parking/camping just dont drive it. Stay on the main gravel road and park at the main lot where the trail leads off to the top of the"mountain".  Its only a 4 minute walk from there to the climbing.

I second Jon’s advice. Just park at the lot and avoid the two track back to the climbing “trailhead”. It’s a short enough approach no matter how you slice it.
I’d be curious to hear a report about conditions - we’ve had heat but also a good chunk of rain.

Sorry!  Just saw this.  We ended up going to the AAA Walls; I was really impressed!  We enjoyed all the climbs we did.  Too bad camping isn't allowed at the wall, it was a beautiful area.

Check out silver mtn if you find yourself in the area again - its an awesome wall if you can catch it dry.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
