Hand/Finger specialist in SoCal/Orange County area

Does anyone know of a hand/finger specialist in the SoCal area. I chipped a piece of bone off of my right ring finger roughly 4-5 months ago, lots of swelling but the pain was tolerable. Saw a hand/wrist specialist a little over a month ago and after taking an x-ray he noticed the small chip floating around in the knuckle. He put a split on it and told me not to put any strain or pressure on it for about 3-4 weeks and the pain and swelling would subside. Here we are at week 6 and the knuckle seems worse off than it was before, more swelling and pain. The chip is still in there and I feel like it is going to be an ongoing issue until its removed, specialist said it wouldn't but couldn't guarantee anything. Can anyone recommend anything or anyone to remedy this issue? Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Trent,

This is Jonathon, Joshua's Dad. Josh had a finger fracture a couple of years back and Eric Hentzen was a fantastic hand specialist that worked with him.

Unfortunately he might be a bit out of the way for you.

I was recently referred to Lori Ann Hicks, a hand therapist at Glendale Adventist. She recommended Dr. Murtaza Rizvi, a hand surgeon at Huntington Orthopedics for all hand injuries. Saying he is one of the best. His schedule is booked out a few weeks, but I hope this helps.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
