Hey, Proj'ers:

My wife and I are heading to COR for the last week in Sept/first week of Oct.  There are some site available in the park, but without being able to see the site, it's impossible to tell if our 20 ft. travel trailer would fit.  What are the BLM areas like?  Can Smoky be accessed with 2wd truck + trailer?  Pinyon?  Any suggestions/info. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Smoky Mtn is easily your best bet without knowing the area. All the sites there will accommodate your trailer. Go for a site there and then scope out something else after a day or two if you don’t like it.

We have a 41' 5th wheel. We stay at the Castle Rocks Smokey Mountain Campground when we visit. About a 10 mile ride to all of the climbing.  There is camping in COR and we would have no qualms about dragging the 5th wheel up there, roads are good.  Sites are a little sketchy for a big rig, but a 20' should have no issues. .  That's why we just make a reservation at Smokey Mountain then we are done, Electric and water.  We'll be in site 33 Sep 24-30.
