What do you think? We won the International Climbers Festival with dirt bikes ;-)

This past July, my wife and I used our dirt bikes to travel to the most remote climbing areas of Lander, Wyoming for the Scavenger hunt of the International Climbers Festival. During the largest attended Climbers Festival in its 25 year history, we didn't see another person for 4 days! We had all the crags to ourselves, and then, to our surprise, we won!

Take a look at our video and subscribe to our channel if you like it!

Could you give us a run down of the competition? Sorry, for I do not know the rules.
Were there any other teams on dirt bikes?
Looks like fun, congrats on the win!

The rules were that you had to go to different climbing areas and red point climbs. The area itself was worth a certain amount (usually ~80-150 points) and then every climb you red pointed you received the grade number (e.g. 5.11 was 11 points, 5.6 was 6 points). We tried to go to all the areas we could, but we couldn't make it to all of them because we were also working our full time jobs during the festival. So, each morning, we would alpine start the day ;-)

Then there were other more traditional scavenger hunt items (~20-40 points per item), where you would have to find things around town and take Instagram photos to receive points. It was really, really, really fun!!!! To add to the fun, we also used a dino costume, which was very funny at the dyno comp!

We were nervous about how the points would all add up, as the team last year went to every single crag possible (a huge feat considering they didn't have the power and mobility of the dirt bike). In the end we squeaked out the win!!! We would recommend this event and the International Climbers Festival to anyone looking for a fun time in July!!!

Dino costumes are so hold school. My friends have been using those for as long as I have been climbing. I think the new thing is doing multi-pitch chimney climb with a beach chair strapped to your back and sitting at the top of each pitch belaying the rest up.

Lawn chairs are old skool and pre-date dino costumes.  Steve (Crusher) Bartlett used a lawn chair on the PO Wall on El Cap in the early 80s.

Got a picture? I have seen early portal ledges and hammocks but never seen an old school chair picture.

I've heard stories of the DLFA carrying a La-Z-Boy up the CCC trail to use as a belay chair...

Edit: Found it!

Funny but not the same as climbing a multi-pitch with the chair on your back and setting it up to belay from at each pitch.

True enough... of course, now you have me envisioning someone using the Pete Zabrock/Mark Hudon 2:1 hauling ratchet to haul this beast up every pitch...
