Anybody have any solid info on where I might find some ok disbursed camping in this area? If you’d like, please PM me. Thanks in advance!

Ironton is an ok spot. It's right next to the highway but convenient.

What you want is to look at the Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUM's) for the area - like these:

https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5201236.pdf

https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5428231.pdf

which will show you where there are pullouts on roads where you can park and disperse camp. There's camping all around Silverton,

just don't anger a Texan.

Telluride's City campground is not free, but it is super nice, quiet, and in town. Would you pay a little money to walk from your tent all over town?

Just outside Silverton, FS 585 to the South Mineral Campground, along the road, before the FS campground has lots of camping spots. If you stay on 585 after the campground, the scenery gets fantastic and there are spots, with fewer people, but the road gets increasingly rough. Some the spots are pullouts, others are pullover and carry your gear 50-100 yards to the spot on the river.

All this is solid , because i was there this past June.

I think you want dispersed camping, unless you’re looking to disburse money while you’re there. If so, let us know where you end up.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
