Eldorado Springs parking

I wanted to take some friends hiking today and saw these signs posted along the road, pretty much from where pavement ends up to the entrance of the park. Anyone knows are these legal and enforceable?

Of course they are. You can only park on private property with permission. Why not just drive into the park? The vehicle rate is cheaper than the walk-in rate for three people anyway.

I somehow doubt that the road itself is private. Strange that these signs weren’t there 6 years ago or even couple of months ago.

Actually, the road is owned by the local residence. That’s why it is dirt and bumpy as hell. Keeps car speeds down.  Signs have been there a long time.

The road is most definitely private. If you are going to the state park please park your car  in the park and not in town. Thanks

If the road is part of CO 170 how can it be private,  should it be regulated by state authorities?

Um, I remember similar signs in similar locations in the 70's.

All highways end somewhere. Eldorado springs was there way before state highways.

Suck it up and cough up the 8 bucks.

You are there to go hiking, right? Well, park at the South Mesa Trail TH and hike from there. If you don't want to pay to enter the state park, then hike all of the area around it.

To clarify, Where the pavement turns to dirt, at the ineffective speed bump, CO170 ends. The dirt roads in the small town of Eldorado Springs are privately owned by Eldorado Artesian Springs.Inc
The state has an easement “through” the town to the park, the state park has no parking in town for park visitors.
The signs referred to by the op were put up this spring. Various versions of these signs have come and gone since the 70’s.
Thanks

If your car isn't registered in Boulder County, there's a $5 fee to park at the South Mesa TH (and Dowdy Draw across the street.)
Totally bogus, IMO.

Plus parking is usually full very early on weekends.

You have to pay $5 to park as an outsider now? Oh, man. Times sure have changed for the worst in Boulder. Oh, well. Come hike in Cheyenne Canyon. That is still free.

Not really a fan of hiking exposed in 90+ degrees heat

Use the access trails from Bear Mountain Drive and Chataqua Park, then. You might as well just drive up to Eldora and hike the trails up on the Divide instead.

As has been mentioned this sign (not this exact sign, but many of similar nature) have been up for decades.  Respect property rights, support our parks and drive into the friggin park!  The town of eldo is not your wal-mart parking lot.

90% chance this is a troll though (considering cheaper to drive in regardless, and he has a pass)

I’m aware of the signs being posted on the parking lot across the pool and in the middle of the street by the island, in the 6 years I’m coming to the park. The recent ones encompass the whole stretch of the dirt road and I was just wondering why. I like your Walmart jab, trashy
