Small red bugs in Tuolumne?

Last weekend I noticed some weird red spots on my palms, but wasn't bleeding (yet). After closer inspection, I noticed small red bugs like aphids on the rock. On the Regular Route of Fairview, there were tons of them in the wet areas of the first pitch. Anyone know what these are? My searching so far for "small red yosemite bug" has not been successful.

Some type of clover mite/spider mite or at least something related to it.

Mites. Common on the rock in the Sierra. My hands get red all the time. They are harmless

"Last weekend I noticed the weird crushed remains of some of my acquaintances on the rock - I haven't been hurt (yet). After closer inspection, I saw giants moving all over the rock! On the Regular Route of Fairview there were tons of them. These creatures crushed several of our friends, spreading their guts across the rock and themselves. Anyone know what these beasts are? My searching so far for "giant rock climbing monster" has not been successful."

I’ve seen the mites. Amazing how they just vanish when you pet them.
