This came in my email today - thought it might be of interest to some of you?

YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado, is looking for seasonal staff to join the team for the fall. Most specifically, they’re looking for housekeepers and food service workers for September and October.

Fall is a great season to spend in the Rockies! Blazing yellow aspen leaves, the first dusting of snow in the mountains – it’s a great time to get out and explore Rocky Mountain National Park! The wildlife is active and abundant and you’ll be inspired by the natural beauty of the area. Estes Park is a classic Colorado mountain town, and for those who enjoy the city, Boulder and Denver are just down the road a bit. You’ll work hard, but you’ll have lots of opportunities to explore the area and take part in Y-sponsored recreational and social activities.

All positions provide room and board, including three meals a day in our dining room. In addition to straightforward seasonal employment (which can last for as little as two weeks or as long as eight months), the YMCA offers two Gap Programs that combine employment with meaningful workshops and activities. Designed for young adults 18-24, these programs last four months and can help participants to build a foundation for life.

Here are some of the YMCA’s employment incentives:

  • For Food Service and Housekeeping staff, the YMCA will pay for your travel to Estes Park. No repayment is necessary! For all other departments, the Y will cover your travel costs up front and you can make reimbursement through payroll deduction.
  • There’s a $100/month work completion bonus. If you complete your work agreement you are eligible for this bonus payment.
  • Food Service and Housekeeping staff will enjoy single rooms in staff housing (October through March). At other times – and in other departments – staff are typically 2-3 to a room.
  • The YMCA will provide trainings and certifications at no cost! A staff member staying for four months may choose from CPR or First Aid. A staff member with an 8-month work agreement can choose from Lifeguarding or Wilderness First Aid.

My son is at a YMCA camp right now. I couldn't be more proud of what they do.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
