Old weather instrument found on Geissler Mtn near Independence Pass, aneroid barometer?

Just curious about this. Found it in talas on the west side of Geissler at maybe 12k'. Maybe it was on top and got swept down? Weather balloon? Only marking is "VIZ Manufacturing". Anyone know anything about old weather station data or???

Managed to get a better results with more google digging. I guess it's been sitting up there for a long time!
