I am taking the train from Seattle, not sure on arrival times but I am guessing closer to 8pm.  Pick up from Safeway around 9pm-ish.

Ill have one 65L backpack and a smaller day pack.

Is anyone willing to help me out with a ride in exchange for a sixer?

In addition, does anyone have beta for dispersed tent camping around the Eight-Miles area?

Walk down road.....extend arm towards road......make a fist....extend thumb upwards.

Definitely the way to go if nobody responds on here.

You should probably through "Grapefruit Sculpin" in there to get the full value

Very helpful. I was also thinking about finding a spot up the hill on the other side of the road, looks well vegetated. Thoughts?

Edit: What is the wandering carnivore situation in that area?

There's free dispersed camping just across the bridge (south side Icicle, where you turn off for Colchuck Lake) from Bridge Creek Campground, maybe a mile from Eightmile. There are also free sites much further up Icicle Road and just about any FS road branching out of Leavenworth.

Don't camp in climbing areas and don't arbitrarily camp up the hill from the road.

There are bears in the area but there's usually too many people around for them to hang out.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
