Watch with a loud alarm

Title pretty much sums it up, I'm looking for a watch with a loud alarm for the predawn mornings.

After stopping by a few stores and struggling mightily to unlock the magic combo of buttons to set an alarm only to hear a distant "beep, beep..." I thought I'd consult the interwebs.

Ideally, it'd be under $100 and low-profile. Bonus feature would be heart rate monitor compatibility, but that stuff gets expensive fast, so not really concerned about it.

Thanks,
Brian

P.S. I usually use my phone, but that's less than ideal when out for several days or when it's cold, and I'd like to get something more reliable for when it's critical to get moving before the sun.

Are you normally wearing your watch deep within a sleeping bag, which will muffle the sound? Many bags have a pocket near the neck for your watch. If not consider sewing one

Alternatively, if you prefer wearing the watch while you sleep, many of the activity tracker watches have a vibrating alarm that might work well for you.  I know that's true for some Fitbit and Garmin models, but I don't know if it holds true for the models in the price range you're looking at.

The vibration feature works better than beeping if you have your arm buried in a sleeping bag, or need to wear earplugs to drown out your tent partner's snoring

I don't have a watch yet, so haven't tried that, but I know the volume of the alarms I've sampled so far wouldn't reliably wake me up, even without any muffling.

The vibration feature sounds ideal, I'll probably go for that Timex. Thanks!

Stiles might have the right answer. Clean looking, rugged, light, loud / vibrating alarm, inexpensive. Just watch (!) the youtube reviews to determine if actually LOUD enough.

I was looking for a higher-end field watch with an alarm to wake me for alpine climbing, which I could also wear to the office day job and for international travel. I wound up (!) buying the Momentum Vortech GMT, with a rubber strap and sapphire crystal. It is a relatively affordable titanium timepiece with swiss movement, it can live two separate lives, and has that rare alarm feature. I really like the Momentum watch company. Here it is with the leather strap. https://www.mec.ca/en/product/5029-080/Vortech-GMT-Watch-with-Leather-Band.

...Looks like the Momentum Vortech GMT is no longer in production. Here is their newer (more affordable) version: https://www.momentumwatch.com/products/pathfinder-iii-40-rubber?variant=28095096843, and in $ titanium https://www.momentumwatch.com/products/pathfinder-iii-40-titanium?variant=30107000651

I would still check out that Timex.

You cant miss your alarm when your wrist starts vibrating. Best design ever

I've seen people put their alarm/watch inside an open cooking pot in their tent (right next to their heads) to amplify the sounds. Kind of like creating a "speaker" for your phone by sticking it in a bowl or a glass. Just in case you want to consider a low cost option...

Great idea. I've seen that done with smartphones for music.

The vibrating timex is cheap and effective. It's the only way I can wake up, plus you can keep the earplugs in for your snoring tent buddy.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
