1/2" tube webbing for anchors, slings etc.
|
I've just recently noticed 1/2 webbing in stock at a climb shop and at a fabric store. Has the tracer thread just like 5/8 and 1" sizes. Can't find any mfg ratings for it. Can anyone vouch for its durability? I'd like to use it for alpine slings and other pleasantries if they fit the bill. Roll said mil-spec fwiw. |

IDK +/- 2000lbs before knotted I would assume. |

are you talking about this really thin light weight 1/2" webbing? i only use it for bail anchors or light rigging. not strong enough for runners or major anchors in my opinion. |

It’s called super tape and is used for tying off hooks and other big wall shinanigans. I have it on my hooks and have loops of it to tie together nests of pins and what not. I wouldn’t use it for runners it’s not that strong. |

Thanks Russ - but I'd defer to your expertise on any sewn-related matter... |

Ok I have always heard the 1/2” stuff called super tape. But that’s cool to know that it’s not. I use it as tieoffs for pins and hooks. Basically to hold groups of pins together and for not losing stuff that is clipped together. |
