I've been looking at getting some last season la sportiva futuras and i was wondering about the sizing, i tried on some muiras and i was a 43 in those, i was wonder if that translated over? some people say to size down a half but I'm not sure if that would be too small since the 43 muiras fit perfect.
I wear a 43 in both Muiras and Futuras. I could definitely downsize for more aggressiveness/power in the toes, but the sizing is quite comparable between the Muira/Futura.
Personally, I feel like a stiffer shoe (Solutions, Instincts, etc) is more well suited for downsizing, because of the extra support it already gives your toe box. Downsizing in Futuras feels like I'm breaking my toes when I try to apply force with cramped toes inside such a soft and maleable shoe. But that's why Futuras are so nice, the flexibility and sensitivity you don't get with stiffer shoes.
Lace up miura or velcro miura? I suspect that'll change the answer as they're quite different shoes. I personally go half an EU size down from my 'performance' miura lace for futuras
I just got a pair of futura's and thought I would post my experience with fit. I'm usually a 43.5 to 44 in LS street shoes and I tried a 42.5 futura and wore them around the house enough to stretch them and they were too tight. I went up to a 43.5 futura and they fit great so far, too narrow for my foot but it's soft enough that my foot just blows out the sides some. My "perfect fit" is a size 46 shaman which is about a half size bigger than the 43.5 futura when I hold them up to each other. My 44.5 oracle's are about a half size smaller than the 46 shaman side by side but the oracle is much tighter (narrower) and about the same fit as the 43.5 futura's. I could probably wear thin socks in the futura and the shaman, my big toe is slightly bent in both pair.
