I think there is a fair amount of discussion of creatine use in this thread: |

Did your sister Maria teach you nothing? |

I gained a few pounds and didn't notice any strength/power increase. |

I take it. Everyone should. |

I AM NOT saying you should or should not take creatine. The water weight gain MIGHT outweigh the performance gains, and anyone taking it should be aware of the fairly ambiguous evidence about its long-term health effects. I AM saying if you take creatine, also drink more water. |

Noah Yetter wrote: It doesn't magically make you stronger (seriously? people think that?). It increases your body's ability to pull water into muscle tissue. Okay, but why should I care that it increases my body's ability to pull water into muscle tissue if it doesn't make me stronger (or more endurant/powerful/etc.)? |

David Kerkeslager wrote: It will improve your work capacity (not the same as endurance), i.e. you will be able to do one or two more reps, you will need less rest between sets, and be able to do more total work in a workout. It will improve nutrient flow into your muscles, which will improve protein synthesis (muscle growth) if you are eating adequately to support it.These effects aren't huge, but enough to justify the ~35 cents a day. There's nothing you can eat, take as a pill, or inject that will make you stronger. Nothing. Including anabolic steroids. The only thing that makes you stronger is your body's own adaptation to stress. The best you can hope for from a nutritional supplement is that it facilitates that process in some way. You still have to put in the work. |

Aleks, I have some left over. |

Use beer for weight gain, try to harness the spirit of wild wolf for added strength. |
