  1. I was out in the Deep creeks area hunting with my father and found a plethora of tall and steep granite domes on both the west and east side of the range. ( looked very simular to what castle rock looks like when driving into the city) I was just curious if there have been any routes put up in the area? And if anyone is planning on doing some climbing out there. I would love to get back out there and explore some more route potential.

I just looked at some photos and satellite images. That area looks pretty sick. What's the weather like down there this time of year?

I’ve only been out there in the fall but it I’m sure it’s nice right now. It’s a pretty dry climate but the peaks are pretty tall and have a few springs. So it’s kinda one of those places that has it all as far as vegetation.

done some developing of bouldering out there. Cool area, much of the rock is pretty chossy, though. Much of it just crumbles endlessly without flaking to something solid unless you can find areas with nice patina.

I've spent a fair amount of time hunting for solid rock out there and haven't found much worth doing despite how impressive it looks.  You could reduce 200 foot domes down to a huge pile of rubble with a bbq brush.

I've spent time on the Nevada side in similar granite hunting.  We had to work really really hard to put up one ok route.  Everything else just fell apart.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
