I’m trying to buy my wife some Miura VS. however, there aren’t a lot of stores around utah that carry them in stock. She usually wears 37 in women’s shoes, but recently tried on a 36.5 otaki and liked the fit. I know it’s hard to compare the fit of shoes, but what size would you recommend for the miura VS? 37 or 36.5?

Data point for you: My wife wears 7.5 in all running shoes. she wears a 38 in the Miura VS. she wore a 37.5 for a while but was in too much pain.

I'm a 7.5 street shoe, wear 36.5 miura vs, 37 miura lace, 37 testarossa. I like to size my miuras down significantly because I use them for edging. how you size them really depends on what you're planning on climbing.

Do they stretch much? @claty I’ve read mixed reviews about them stretching. Some say it stretches a lot and some say it stretches 1/4 size

Not sure if this is helpful, but --
I had a pair of men's miura VS that I needed to exchange due to a defect.  The store only had the women's' miura VS in stock, so I tried those on instead.  I found the fit for the same size in the women's to be identical as far as I could tell (and ended up just taking home the women's' shoes.)  So, you might be able to have her try on the men's shoes to get a fit, and order the women's online if you care about the color.

The person in the store told me there is a slight difference in the cut (women's shoes are a bit narrower) but if this is true, it's incredibly subtle.

I don't think they stretch as much as break in, but either way, they definitely won't get too much bigger.

I think it depends on the foot shape and your wife's preference for how tight she likes her climbing shoes. I like my shoes fairly tight.  My street shoe size is 7, I wear 38 in running shoes, all my climbing shoes from Sportiva are 36 (Miura, Miura VS, Katana, Katana Lace, Mythos when I had them) with the exception of TC Pros (there is so much material in those shoes they run a bit small in smaller sizes). I've tried Otaki in the store and 36 felt right.  I have narrow feet, low volume heels and high arches for reference.

I find Miura VS fit slightly bigger than regular Miura or Katana - I could easily wear 35.5 as well. Miura VS are higher volume, and quite wide in the front. They stretch maybe a tiny bit not much - for me personally it's the only aggressive shoe that feels very comfortable right out of the box.  Having said that because it's a fairly stiff shoe, it is not a big deal if you oversize it by half size or so (I do have 36.5 shoes that I like to wear after the winter of spoiling my feet in roomy boots).

Another thing to note is that women's Miura and Miura VS have added padding in the heel - so I think they cut women's shoes a bit wider to acommodate the padding.  For that reason, I like men's version better as the shoes feel closer to the skin.

^^^I was going to say the same. There isn't much that Otaki can't do what Miura VS does.

Not sure if I'm too late to the game, but I wear a 36.5 in the miura vs and a 36 in the otaki.  Both women's versions.  The otakis have a bit of a wider toe box, so can size down a tiny bit.  I'm a size 8.5 street show, but like my shoes pretty tight

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
