Are we doing Alcove Swing threads again? Oh I hope so.

I'll start: I've been up there once, but some grumpy-pants had cut it down. Apparently El Cap is serious business, not for having fun. Props to whoever puts it back up.

This is going to sound ridiculous but where is the swing? I’ve only been up on and over by Freerider. Curious where it is/how to access

Bring your spare ropes and aid gear and put it up yourself if you want the amusement park ride so badly.

A little vid I made a few years ago of rescuing the alcove swing then swinging on it. The alcove swing is awesome!!

The porch swing is way more fun and way less crowded. (but a much longer hike) The lead out of the alcove is pretty stout for C3 in my opinion.

NPS staff chopped the swing in the Fall and reportedly will keep cutting it down as they consider it leaving gear behind. Not worth it.

You sound like a tool man. Like a negative grumpy jerk lol. What is with these internet trolls. If someone has a question, you don’t have to come off sassy like a douche.

Apparently you didn't read the last post before posting your negative, grumpy, jerk response:

There was a highline across the top of the alcove a few weeks ago, but I don’t think it was up for long.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
