Black Diamond straps and buckles suck.  So....not black diamond.

I have a mad rock one, metollious, and organic and I mean they all get the job done regardless, but I like the stiffness from organic, that’s my two cents, yaaaaaas

Well I went bouldering outside for the first time this past weekend, so I consider myself an expert.........but I did like the Metolius trifold and the Organic Simple. They also strap together nicely for transport. I also tried out some Evolv and MadRock pads. But hey, that's my obvious extensive experience.

I think organic is best but I have not tried Asana which is the other top name pad so they may be better.

Organic or Misty Mountain

Asana hands down. Very comfortable to haul and easy to stack on a single person.

Honestly, minus the terrible baffle-style of some madrock pads, the foam is going to be pretty similar for most pads. So size, features, and folding style will be the biggest differences. For cheap pads, Evolv makes some super durable and comfy pads. Otherwise get an organic ($$$) or a Misty (great features like carpet and great straps).

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
