So I've cracked the plastic handles on both my tools. Both at the pinky rest and the pommel. Don't bother to criticize my swing, I know i swing hard. It makes my all fuzzy inside when I have a bomber stick. They're still usable but it won't be long before they completely break off. I've ordered new handles but has anyone tried to glue theirs up. I'm thinking of using 2 part epoxy but that might be too hard once it cures. Then I thought rubber contact cement is more flexible but not sure if it'll actually bond the handle. Anyone know what the handle is made of. The clear part. not the black rubber.

First apologies hijacking your thread. I don’t have any ideas on how to fix your handles. I’m wondering if you broke your handles climbing brittle hard ice this season. The Adirondacks have had some crazy bulletproof ice this year and I’ve been having issues getting good sticks with the XDreams. I too was swinging harder and harder to get good sticks especially when hanging off one tool placing a screw. Finally I tried out the Trango Raptors. I’ve have not got back to the XDreams since.

Kind of a combination of things. The ice is harder this year, more than most years. I find myself swinging harder because of that and my picks are on their last legs. Last couple years I was able to get solid sticks with only about 1.0"-1.5" of penetration. This year picks don't feel solid until I'm +2.0" into the ice. I also added pick weights hoping to get better sticks and they definitely go deeper in. Now I'm thinking may welding them with a hot glue gun.

Have you contacted Camp about replacing them under warranty? There is a discussion about this on a Canadian Rockies fb group, others have had issues too. A couple folks said Camp replaced them. Sucks that no one can seem to make a tool that doesn't break in some way (maybe DMM, but those are heavy beasts).

My X-Dreams have cracked at the bottom of the handle. When using them to plunge into snow, the snow will build up making the handle smaller.. Its annoying as hell

They're super good about warrenty-ing stuff. I'd email the folks at CAMP and they might send you new handles for free.

Never even considered a warranty replacement. It kinda seems ridiculous, a battle between hard ice and frozen plastic, is not even close. I already ordered two new handles but I did send Campusa an email. I'll see what they say and post back. It would be great if they sent me a free pair but I'm not holding my breath.

Great customer care from Camp. They are replacing both handles. No hassle, no questions, just where do we send them.
