I'm psyched to boulder and climb sport in Red Rocks in early January...but definitely can't pull down every day. Or...most days. Is it possible to get off the ground on multipitch moderates that time of year? I've done a good number of the classics you'd expect, but never in winter -- and I'm usually running AWAY from the sun and not toward it. Is there something 5.8-5.10 that gets direct sun and would be good for a "rest" day? My tendon pulleys thank you in advance! Cheers.
Y2K will be shaded unfortunately. Birdland is a sunny moderate, and I personally enjoy Rawalpindi to the big horn which is just to the left of it (and then your rap Birdland). Bighorn looks intimidating but is actually quite moderate and a great climb. It will see some sun in the morning, but by 11am the final pitch of Bighorn will be shaded.
Great suggestions! Thx. I have vague (good) memories of Birdland from about 1997. I've never done Rawalpindi or Big Horn, both of which sound like good fun. Double-plus bonus for the option to combine w some fun single pitch moderates at the base!
