Hey everyone!

I am moving to Tucson to work with the forest service and was trying to pick out where I want to live. I want to live near one of the gyms in Tucson. In your opinion, which one is better? It seems like one is more for sport while the other is more for bouldering, but does one have better setting and/or a better community? Also, does getting membership at one grant membership at the other? Thanks for any info.

Very generally, in my opinion:

Bloc = more bouldering than climbing, newer than R& R, closer to Mt. Lemmon, more expensive housing.

R&R = more climbing than bouldering, near downtown, less expensive housing, more university students at night during the school year.

Both are owned by same person.

Setters move back in forth between both gyms and there are some very good setters.

I believe a general membership is good for both gyms these days.

The one that is better--- is the one you like better.

Welcome.  Hope you enjoy Tucson.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
