Hello, I will be in Moab climbing In November. Id like to hit up the valley at some point and was wondering how the weather is that time of year, and also how hard it would be to find partners. I basically cant decide if its worth the long journey from the dessert but I do really want to go. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm gonna be heading up around Thanksgiving to see if I can find anyone to climb with. I'm rolling the dice with the weather being so late in November, but oh well. It's the only time I can go. Let me know if you get any good info on it and good luck!

It will be hit or miss. Depends on the weather. Could be dry and sunny or wet and miserable. Won't know until you can get a fairly accurate forecast about five days in advance.

There's a helpful, wishy-washy answer for you!

Couldn't give a better answer than this.

Its late fall. Don't commit to anything until you have a reliable weather forecast.

It will likely be difficult to find partners during the darkest months, unless it has been unusually dry (and then winter is ideal for many routes that bake in even spring or fall).

Where the weather is best is where the partners will be. I would keep Owens/Bishop, Alabama Hills, JTree etc as a back up.

Also keep in mind it is very likely Tioga Pass will be closed long before then which will add to your drive.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
